Tufnil contains Tolfenamic acid, which belongs to the fenamate group of NSAIDs. It is a potent inhibitor of cyclooxygenase enzymes, effectively blocking the synthesis of key inflammatory mediators like prostaglandins and thromboxanes. Uniquely, it also exerts a direct antagonistic action on prostaglandin receptors, making it exceptionally effective at targeting the biological pathways responsible for throbbing migraine pain and associated inflammation.
Specifically indicated for relieving the pain of acute migraine headaches. It is also recommended for use as an analgesic to manage mild-to-moderate post-operative pain, severe tension headaches, and fever.
For Acute Migraine Attacks: Adults should take one 200 mg tablet as soon as the very first symptoms of a migraine appear. If satisfactory relief is not obtained, the dose may be repeated once after 1 to 2 hours. For Mild to Moderate Pain: 100 mg to 200 mg three times daily. This medicine must be taken with food or immediately after meals with a full glass of water. Ensure high water intake throughout the day to reduce the risk of urinary discomfort
